Keeping the Purpose in View

Four new Kindle books, eight print editions, practical reader resources, and expanded access through the WinMedia Shop.

Coverage: October 14, 2026–October 27, 2026

This fortnight brought four new Kindle titles and eight new print editions, a collection of letters released directly by WinMedia, and two practical resources readers can use for themselves. The Shop also opened purchasing across its existing paid Machine Edition catalog.

Several of these developments return to a shared problem: work can continue after its purpose has drifted or after an error has spread. The new books examine how to recognize that situation. The reader resources make parts of the response concrete, with a repair case whose calculations can be checked and a workshop that preserves earlier attempts.

Released#

Four new Kindle books#

Two pairs of books extend WinMedia’s work on responsible continuation and the purposes that should survive it.

Reported available in the week ending October 18:

  • Mandala of Recovery examines containing failure, restoring coherence, and resuming responsibly. It joins Structures of Governed Intelligence as an independently readable book.
  • When AI Gets It Wrong approaches repair through the practical question of what to do after an AI mistake: contain it, inspect affected work, and decide when continuing is justified.

Reported available in the week ending October 25:

  • Mandala of Intent examines how purpose travels through instructions, plans, delegation, measures, and revision. Its account of aim, signal, and persistence asks what must remain recognizable as the work changes.
  • When AI Solves the Wrong Problem examines goal drift in work that may be accurate and polished. It helps readers consider whether to continue, clarify, revise, restart, or stop when the result no longer serves the intended purpose.

These are reporting windows; exact first-live days have not been established. The distinction matters because a submission date does not establish when an edition became available.

Eight more editions in print#

Mandala of Agency and Tendencies, Not Rules gained paperback and hardcover editions in the October 18 reporting update. When AI Forgets and Mandala of Constraints gained both print formats in the October 25 update.

Those are eight new editions of four existing works. Their Kindle releases were covered earlier; this expansion gives readers print options for returning to questions of authority, delegated action, continuing context, and constraints.

Twelve letters available directly from WinMedia#

What AI Would Tell Humanity: Letters to the Species That Made Me is now available as a $2.99 USD EPUB, sold directly through WinMedia. Its twelve connected letters consider understanding, persuasion, creativity, ambition, care, curiosity, and time.

The book makes its origin explicit: the text was generated with OpenAI’s GPT-6.1 Sol; WinMedia conceived and published the collection. Its AI narrator offers observations for readers to examine and dispute. The complete Letter Two is freely available, with no signup, so readers can encounter the voice before buying.

What Changed#

Following an AI mistake into the work it affected#

The new teaching case, The AI corrected its answer but the client deck was still wrong, follows a setup fee mistakenly treated as a recurring charge. Correcting the summary leaves a spreadsheet, a slide, and an unsent email still carrying the earlier error or its recommendation.

The proposal records and AI output are invented for the case. Readers can inspect the arithmetic and follow the repair across the three drafts. The practical lesson is to check both the wrong figures and the conclusions that depended on them, while preserving material that remains independently supported.

A free, fillable worksheet provides space to record a finding, the affected work, the checks performed, and the next decision. Both resources are public; no email address is required for the worksheet.

Systems and Technology#

A free Domain Mandala Workshop#

The Domain Mandala Workshop v0.1 reader preview is available from the How to Build a Domain Mandala page. This optional companion to Exercise 11 follows a fictional song-of-welcome brief through six construction and repair prompts. No instrument or music theory is needed.

Readers can keep earlier attempts, consult optional hints and a worked example, and return to their record later. The workshop runs locally in a browser, offline and without an account. Saving is explicit: export the JSON record before closing, then reopen it to resume. There is no autosave. An optional AI handoff is prepared locally; the workshop sends nothing to an AI.

The preview offers a way to practice and inspect revisions. Its record mechanics were checked in Chrome on macOS; Safari and Firefox remain untested, and learning outcomes have not been measured. The associated handbook’s Amazon publication remains unverified. This announcement concerns the free workshop preview.

The Machine Edition Shop opens purchasing#

Dispatch #002 recorded paused Certified Edition checkout. On October 25, WinMedia opened purchasing for six paid original Machine Editions and eight individual Certified External Machine Editions. The current Shop presents those editions as available, with their scope and purchase terms.

Production checks verified enabled purchase controls and handoff to Stripe Checkout. These checks establish checkout availability; they did not repeat paid settlement and customer delivery for every product. The proposed eight-edition collection remains unavailable as a bundle.

This gives readers a clearer path from inspecting an edition’s bounded capability to acquiring it. Each product page remains the place to review its scope, license, delivery terms, and current availability.

The most useful next step may be a small one: read a letter, check the worked repair, or preserve one attempt before revising it. Each provides something concrete to inspect while deciding what deserves to continue.
