Cookies and analytics preferences

Analytics is optional on WinMedia. We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) only after you explicitly allow it.

Before you choose

Analytics is off by default. WinMedia does not load the Google Analytics tag, send GA4 requests, or create GA4 cookies before you allow analytics. Rejecting analytics keeps it off.

If you allow analytics

The site loads GA4 for the winmedia.com web stream. GA4 can set analytics cookies, including cookies whose names begin with _ga. WinMedia uses it to measure page visits and selected interactions, such as outbound link clicks. Advertising personalization and Google Signals are disabled in the site configuration.

Campaign measurement

If you allow analytics, WinMedia can remember an approved campaign and link placement in this tab’s session storage for up to 30 minutes. These codes help us understand which published links bring readers to our books. If you proceed to an eBook checkout during that time, the codes may be recorded with your order for aggregate sales reporting. Customer email, payment details, and download credentials are not included in campaign events sent to Google Analytics.

Rejecting or withdrawing analytics clears these temporary browser codes. Codes already recorded with a completed order remain with that order.

Your choice and how to change it

Your allow or reject choice is stored in this browser’s local storage under winmedia.analytics-consent.v1. It remains there until you change it or clear browser storage. Use “Analytics preferences” in the site footer to reopen the choice at any time. Withdrawing consent removes accessible GA4 cookies and reloads the page to stop the loaded analytics script. Clearing browser storage also removes the saved choice; analytics stays off until you choose again.
