DOMAIN MANDALA WORKSHOP
Start here — v0.1 reader preview

A free optional companion to How to Build a Domain Mandala by Lynn Walker.
This is the v0.1 pilot preview; the app retains its original pilot labels.
It follows Exercise 11 in book v0.3, Chapter 10, with the six construction
record prompts from Appendix A.

OPEN AND BEGIN
1. Unzip this download. Open Domain-Mandala-Workshop.html in your browser.
If it opens in a text editor, use Open With and choose your browser.
JavaScript must be enabled. No account or extra software is required.
The companion works locally and offline.
2. Read the fictional song-of-welcome brief and work through A1–A6. No
instrument, recording or music theory is required. This is a paper
   construction and repair exercise.
3. Use “Preserve this attempt” when you want to keep an earlier draft before
revising. Opening a hint or the worked example also preserves the current
draft first. These checkpoints remain in the tab until you export JSON.

SAVE BEFORE CLOSING
Choose “Export JSON to resume”. Confirm that song-v1-record.json has actually
been saved to your computer before closing the tab. Keep a clearly named or
dated copy for each record. Export again after further changes.

There is no autosave. “Preserve this attempt” keeps a checkpoint inside the
current record; it does not save a file to your computer. A readable export
also does not replace the JSON needed to resume.

RESUME LATER
Open the same Domain-Mandala-Workshop.html, choose “Open saved JSON”, and
select your saved .json file. Your current draft, checkpoints and support
history return together. Export any work already in the tab before replacing
it with an imported record. Keep the companion file with your saved JSON.

If an import is refused, keep the JSON and check that it belongs to this
companion and task. A different task or source version is refused. Keep using
the original matching companion rather than editing the record to force it
to load. An unsupported file cannot be resumed here.

OPTIONAL EXPORTS
• “Export readable record” saves a Markdown (.md) copy for reading or sharing.
Keep the JSON too; Markdown cannot be imported to resume.
• “Prepare AI handoff” shows a local text preview containing your full draft,
checkpoints and support history. Nothing is sent. Review the preview before
manually sharing it elsewhere; “Export this handoff” saves a text copy.
Export JSON again if you want to retain the handoff-preparation event.

PREVIEW SCOPE
Local-file launch, save and import were checked on 17 October 2026 using
headed Chrome for Testing 151.0.7922.34 on macOS 15.7.4. Safari and Firefox
have not been tested. The companion organizes your record; it does not grade
your work. Reader benefit and learning outcomes have not been measured.
